Historic Inns in Gloucester and Cape Ann, Mass - Just 30 miles north of Boston
European settlement of Gloucester began over 400 years ago. Many homes built in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries have been restored to their original ambiance and you can stay in the ones that have been converted into comfortable inns.

Choices abound, from the 1640’s home of Thomas Riggs (Ancient Riggs House, Gloucester), to one of the first sixteen homes built on Sandy Bay (Beach Knoll Inn, Rockport), to a home built by the celebrated architect Charles Bulfinch (Bulfinch B&B, Rockport), or an 1845 Tuscan Villa overlooking Gloucester Harbor (Charles Hovey House, Gloucester).

Visitors to Cape Ann can also stay in the very inns visited by eminent figures from history such as Ralph Waldo Emerson (Emerson Inn by the Sea, Rockport), Thornton Wilder (Inn at Castle Hill, Ipswich), John F. Kennedy (Yankee Clipper Inn, Rockport), and the former Danish summer embassy located on Boston’s “Gold Coast” (Old Corner Inn, Manchester).
